Explorer 2100W — the working quad
The Explorer 2100W (£4,295) is the core model: a 2100W brushless motor, a tow ball and winch fitted as standard, and 40–50km of range. It is built for the daily round — checking stock, hauling feed, moving fence posts — where torque and reliability matter more than top speed. The near-silent drive is a real advantage around animals, and running costs are a fraction of a petrol quad's.
Explorer GT — four-wheel drive for hard ground
The Explorer GT (£5,054) steps up to a 3000W motor, selectable four-wheel drive and around 70km of range. The 4WD is the point: on steep, wet or churned-up ground the 2WD Explorer can spin a wheel, while the GT keeps digging. If your land is hilly or heavy clay, the extra £759 is well spent. If it is mostly flat pasture, the standard Explorer is enough.
Shredder — the recreational sport quad
The Shredder (£3,995) is a different animal: a sport-oriented off-road quad for trails and fun rather than farm work. No tow ball or winch, a lighter feel, and sportier geometry. It is the pick for a rural family who want a quad to ride rather than to work, and it undercuts the utility models on price.
Range and charging in the real world
Eco Rider's range figures assume moderate use on reasonable ground. Towing, mud, hills and cold weather all reduce it — plan for roughly two-thirds of the quoted figure when the quad is working. All three recharge overnight from a standard socket, so they suit a predictable daily pattern. Keep the charger somewhere convenient and top up at lunch on heavy days.
Road legality
The Eco Rider quads are supplied for off-road use. The utility Explorer models are the more realistic candidates for DVLA road registration if you need to travel between parcels of land on the public road, but confirm the current type-approval position before ordering.
