FunBikes Electric Range Review: MXR 1400W, MXR 1800W & Electric Quads
FunBikes has become one of the best-known names in UK kids' electric off-road bikes by doing one thing well: putting genuinely capable, adjustable-power dirt bikes and quads in the £400–£1,000 bracket. This review covers the electric MXR dirt bike range and the FunBikes electric quads, and who each one suits.

MXR 790W — ages 6–10
The MXR 790W (£435) is the entry point into "real" FunBikes dirt bikes: hand brakes, pneumatic knobbly tyres, and an adjustable speed limiter so you can cap it right down for a nervous first-timer and open it up as they improve. At ~15mph flat out it is quick enough to be exciting on a field without being intimidating.
MXR 1400W — ages 10–14
The MXR 1400W (£799) is the range's sweet spot and its best seller. 1400W and around 20mph, with the same adjustable limiter, on a frame that takes a growing rider comfortably into the mid-teens. For most families buying one bike to last a few years, this is the one.
MXR 1800W — teens
The MXR 1800W 2025 (£995) is the most powerful, at 1800W and around 25mph on a lithium battery. It suits confident teenagers who have outgrown the 1400W. Beyond this, the next real step is a Sur-Ron Hyper Bee (£2,999), which brings adult-grade suspension and brakes.

The quads follow the same formula: lithium batteries, adjustable limiters and a size step for each age band. The 500W is a genuine first quad for a 6-year-old; the 1000W and 1500W move up to lithium packs and real pace for older kids.
How FunBikes compares
Against Revvi, FunBikes tends to offer more raw power per pound, while Revvi leans towards refinement, brake quality and a bike-like feel. Against KTM's SX-E range, FunBikes is a completely different price bracket — the KTMs are junior race bikes at £3,800+. The honest positioning: FunBikes is the best value for a capable, adjustable kids' off-road bike that will not be ridden competitively.
What to know before buying
All FunBikes electric models are off-road only. Every rider needs a kids' MX helmet and protection, and the speed limiter should stay set low until the child is genuinely ready. Assembly is minimal and the bikes ship mostly built.
